Welcome to Carolyn’s Nonprofit Blog

Carolyn’s Nonprofit Blog was established in 2011. It is based on personal interests and experiences, and focuses primarily on nonprofit work spanning three decades. My aim is to share my experiences working in the “trenches,” both the wonderful and the challenging moments.

The challenging experiences I discuss are meant to help readers understand that while missteps happen naturally in life, one can recuperate and even thrive once you deal with and move past them.

This blog was created and it is written and managed solely by Carolyn M. Appleton, free of charge as a public service. All rights reserved.

Be sure to check the margin of Carolyn’s Nonprofit Blog for a new section of personal stories, “A Brief Account.”

The main list of “primary” articles on Carolyn’s Nonprofit Blog may be found by clicking the drop-down menu at the top of the page. I add new information to existing posts often. In the dropdown menu, you might also enjoy my new series of photo portfolios, and a new section with advice for newcomers in the field of nonprofit development, “Development as a Profession.”

Missing something?

If you are searching for one of my casual “posts” but are unable to locate it, do two things: 1) check the Primary Articles (drop-down menu at the top of the page), as some posts have been converted to primary articles; and 2) check the widgets in the margin at the bottom of the page. There you will find Carolyn’s Posts and a searchable archive going back to 2013.
